I don't like spiders and snakes...
Melanie and I found our first tarantula!! I really can't tell you how excited we were to find this mammoth thing. I had been anticipating this since we moved here and I guess I wasn't as horrified as I thought I would be. Maybe because I was trying to be mature in front of my granddaughter. So, now we've had 3 rattlesnakes, a scorpion and a tarantula and in spite of the wildlife we still love Kanab.

ATV club adventure
Yes, we are joiners and we joined the local ATV club. We had our first ride Saturday and we had a blast. We met a lot of nice people and saw the most beautiful scenery we have ever seen. We went to the Vermillion Cliffs and Paria Canyon. There were 13 machines, 19 people and 3 dogs along for the trip (no, Garth wasn't one of them because he would have been too hot).
There were quite a few speculations on how these formations came about. One was that there was a water hole and sediment filled it that was harder than the sandstone so when the sandstone washed away these were left.
Supposedly, this stone house was built by a polygamist guy for one of his wives. He took her there and left her and when she tracked him down in Paria she poisoned him. Way to go girl.

Brent and I were married 39 years ago on September 16th and spent our honeymoon at Grand Canyon. So, back we went to celebrate and we had a great time. We hiked a bit and were amazed again at the breathtaking scenery. The trip brought back lots of good memories and we plan to go back soon and also to shoot for another 39 years!
